Astartea fascicularis: is a member of the Myrtaceae family, a native of Western Australia and develops into a low, spreading, densely foliaged shrub that will reach a height of one metre with a two metre spread.
Short leaves are narrow, aromatic, fleshy and sometimes arranged in bundles along the stems. Flowers are one centimetre across, five-petalled, profuse and usually white. The main flowering period extends from June to March with sporadic flowering at other times.
Astartea fascicularis is an attractive shrub that has proved to be hardy and free flowering. Try this adaptable species as a foreground shrub in native garden beds.
