This large species is found on deep, poor sandy soils in New South Wales and Victoria.
It occurs from Newcastle, south to eastern Victoria. The bark is fibrous to flaky, brown to gray-brown in color on the main trunk and branches. Smaller branches are smooth, white or gray-white in color.
The best outstanding feature of this species is its ability to withstand occasional flooding or water-logged, wet soils.
The flowers are white,frost and drought hardy
