One of the glories of the New Zealand mountains, this is the largest and finest Ranunculus in the world
With its shining green, thick, leathery, large orbicular (like a Water Lily's) leaves up to 12 ins. across, and its branching panicles of large, breathtakingly beautiful, waxy-white flowers , up to 4 ins. across, it is indeed a lovely sight when in bloom.
Unfortunately, it has a reputation of not being easy to grow (although from seed could give the best chance of establishing it), but a moist peaty gravel has been recommended, and allowing it to grow through low shrubs that will protect the rootstock from winter cold and help support the leaves. 3-4 ft.
